I highly doubt that the hardware emulation is still active with the current Firmware, even in consoles that have the chip.

It is typical marketing speak, if you take it seriously you deserve to be deceived.

Seriously. It's the same shtick as when Ubisoft was prancing around Assassin's Creed not being on PC/360, when everyone knew it was.

Do you remember what Nintendo said right before they announced the DS Lite? Exactly.

Red button on the controller. Possibly the new one with rumble?

Meh, Sony needed to lower the price at least $200 for it to make an impact. While this may get a few people that were sitting on the fence to buy one it won't make a big enough difference in the long run.

The bundle seems ok. I would of had the bundle for at least $500 and a different game than Motorstorm. It's a gorgeous game but I probably would of done Resistance. Actually I would of done Ninja Gaiden if it didn't just get released.

What Sony needs and what they've always needed was games. Fuck Blu-ray, the majority of consumers want a gaming console. Not a linux, blu-ray, media center with gaming tacked on. Also look at what's released right now. Mostly shooting, driving, and sports games. The PS2 was all about diversity. Yes that's coming, but they need to kick it into gear if they want to play catch up.

The Scud always shows the best pics when it comes to consoles I see 10 games that I'm looking forward to but lets be realistic. How many of those will be pushed back to 2008? Out of the list I know Warhack and Lair have release dates and Heavenly Sword will most likely be out. Killzone 2 is also said to be trying to make a 2007 release date so lets hope for that. That's 3 FPS, which I love, but the majority of consumers probably want something different. Tack on all the EA sports games that come out around Aug and we have FPS and Sports again. Bring on the RPGS Sony!

Let's hope for some great info and games come E3. Great games and better online features for Sony, Free Live and more great games for MS, and a Ton more games for Nintendo.

I think there's a good chance that future PS3 RPGs are going to make good use of the massive space that the blu-ray format offers. So you may not want it now, but I think it will prove to be useful later when the RPGs with really high production values come out since those type of games tend to have very detailed worlds, epic high quality soundtracks, etc, which of course requires lots of space.

I meant Sony pushing the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player for movies, but since you brought up games. Since more and more games have install options is Blu-Ray really going to be needed in the future? Right now I'd have to say no. PCs have been fine for years installing to a HD. I don't see it being any different for the PS3.

I would have to agree. The space will be definately needed. I remember all of the PS2 launch title I bought came on CD-ROMs, but all of the newer games come on DVDs. As devs make better use of the system they will keep using more and more storage space.

Even still, think about how annoying it was to install those damn 6 disk games before they finally started switching to DVDs.
