The Infiniti just turned 85k, and I'm in the middle of replacing both front wheel bearings. The driver's side sounded like a box full of rocks. Fucking things are $135 apiece for the Timken units off of Amazon (Infiniti wants $500 apiece from the parts counter, lawlz). Woulda been cheaper from Rockauto, but for that extra $13, I got 'em yesterday instead of next week.

The Infiniti "wheel bearing" includes the hub, splines for the CV shaft, and chopper wheel for the ABS too (front wheel bearing on an AWD car).

ohhh That makes sense.....

Sucks they went out at such an early mileage no? I looked at the paperwork on my GS, and nothing mentioned of wheel bearings, so almost 300k and they finally cracked.....

The M50 you mean? That's the black one above, it's just changed cosmetically from last summer. It's getting a turbo later this year, I bought the megasquirt box a month ago and an engineer friend put it together for me. I need more free time.

And I'll build anybody an e30, I love em.

Wheel bearings are a known weak point of modern Infinitis (they use the same Timken bearing on all of their AWD cars/SUVs).

Big wheels, wide tires, and heavy cars don't make for wheel bearing longevity. I'm actually surprised that the bearings and the struts have lasted this long.
