Glad you got it all back together again. Lord knows if I had a powder-coating setup there would be nothing in my possession that was raw or painted metal

Left to do before Zcon (June, in Austin TX): HKS coilovers, new brake pads, new brake hat hardware kit, AEM series 2 + tuning.

New brake hardware's on, as are the pads, but the time got too short to get the HKS coilovers rebuilt and the AEM installed. I did manage to buy the parts, off of a guy who had all of 20 minutes of time on his VG30DETT before he burned an exhaust valve and decided to scrap the whole thing in favor of a 2JZ. So, I scored the AEM V2 plug-n-play, the IAT, the MAP, the CAS, and the sensor pigtails for $1500. I still have to get another wideband O2 sensor and a boost solenoid, though.

I also had to rebuild the power steering pump, because I've chased the leak almost all the way around the circuit now (only the pump's left). I got the O-rings, the gasket, the oil seals, and disassembled it. Once I had the driveshaft out, I found the bearing felt like it was full of rocks, so I had to stop in at Grainger to get a replacement. But now it's in, and it feels pretty good.

I'm going to try and replace the AC compressor before I leave. I've gotten pretty fuckin' good at AC shit, but the compressor's leaking PAG oil out the bottom of the case, so I'm pretty sure it's shot.

Zcon is in Austin, so I'll be there starting next Tuesday.

Drove to and from Austin. I took the 240Z, my wife took the 300ZX, and neither of them broke a sweat.

From Circuit of the Americas:

It was 103 that day, with a heat index around 115. My balls were sweaty.

Brain transplant successful, with a caveat.

Made a jumper harness that allowed me to run the AEM with the existing harness without modification. It includes provisions for the MAP sensor, the IAT sensor, and the ethanol content sensor.

Brain and the only out-and-out replacement sensor, as the AEM takes a 12-slot crank angle sensor wheel, instead of the Nissan 360+1 slot wheel.

Jumper harness and ECU in the stock location.

Here's where the jumper harness terminates. I added a grommet over the transmission for the new sensors, and terminated them to matching 4-cavity plugs.

IAT

Boost solenoid and ethanol content sensor

Now for the caveat. I took the whole thing to my tuner, basically giving him a turn-key system, he only had to put the jumper harness in, swap the ECUs out, and replace the CAS, but I guess he was busy, so he forgot to set the initial timing, and had it idling at about 40BTDC, so 1) it ran like shit, and 2) basically all the work he did on the dyno was for nothing, so the results here are tentative, at best.

It bugged the shit out of me, how it was running, so being the pedantic blowhard I am, I checked the timing with my light, and figured it out, but the timing maps need another look on the dyno, and I won't have time to get it there until the end of the month.
